The Dead Pine
Here in the Pacific Northwest, we are fortunate to have so many beautiful trees. Sometimes a tree needs to come down, either due to expansion of your home, the tree is diseased or the tree is dying. Before you take that tree down, though, make sure you are following the local jurisdiction’s rules and guidelines. Even if you have a dying or diseased tree on your property, you don’t want to take it down just to find out that you will incur a fine, after the fact. If this process seems too daunting, there are arborists that can assist you from determining whether the tree requires a permit to be removed, to filing the paperwork on your behalf, and then working with a tree removal company.
If you are looking to maintain a tree’s health, make sure to keep the English ivy off of the tree, as well as any other vine that could suffocate the tree. An arborist can also assist with assessing a tree’s health and what to do to maximize the life expectancy.
